The Love of
Christ
" Who shall separate
us from the love of Christ? Shall trouble or hardship or persecution or famine or
nakedness or danger or sword? As it is written: For you sake we face death all day long;
we are considered as sheep to be slaughtered. No, in all these things we are more that
conquerors through him who loved us. For I am convinced that neither death nor life,
neither angels nor demons, neither the present nor the future, nor any powers, neither
height nor depth, not anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the
love of God that is in Christ Jesus our Lord." Romans 8:34-39
Once we have tasted of the love of Christ
there is nothing that we would exchange for it. It is a priceless gift, one we can never
fully repay. It is a love that reached us while we were yet sinners, a love that gave
itself in death for us, a love that is eternal. It is because of what this love had done
to us, giving us new life, that no one or no circumstance can separate us from Christ's
love. If we truly love and trust Christ with all our heart then no trouble will be able to
separate us from His love, for it is that very love that will sustain us in the dark
valleys that we will find ourselves in. There is no circumstance, no matter how difficult,
that we will find ourselves in that the Lord will not be present with us. He is with us
always, His love for us is unending...how can ours for Him be any less.
Father, how we thank You for the love of Christ that reached down and
touched us and saved us from death! May the love of Christ transform us
as we begin to grasp its magnitude. Thank You for the promise that
nothing will ever be able to come between us and Your love for us. Thank
You for never letting us go. We love You with all our hearts. Amen
